katrina vanessa( tag: chasper jasper ) katrina walked out onto the quidditch pitch in quidditch robes. she hadn't started calling her team out for practice, but she wanted to get a sense of the conditions. she had the giant red quaffle under one arm and, in her other hand, she carried a sleek, shining mahogany handled firebolt. it had been a birthday present from her mother two years ago. since she had had a cleansweep eleven, it had easily been outstripped in quidditch matches, thus dubbed no good. recently, katrina had grown very fond of her broomstick, making sure it was always in her dormitory and had resulted in placing a protection charm around it. an flagrante charm of some sort, where only katrina could touch it without burning herself. she grinned as she looked around the large, but empty, quidditch pitch.
the girl put the quaffle down at her feet and closed her eyes. she could just imagine the stadium filled with spectators, all of them waving different coloured flags. damn, she remembered it very well. her first quidditch match in her second year - she had been scared shitless, but now... well, now she was still scared, but not as much as she had been. go, go gryffindor! go, go gryffindor! she heard those three words, well rehearsed after decades of their use. she had spoken to her mother about it, and she explained that that's what all the students would chant when they wanted gryffindor to win. kat grinned and hopped up and down on the spot, already excited for the first match, which was due to happen once the rest of the teams agreed that they were ready. kat wasn't quite ready, she was almost. though she needed to replace one of her players.
she finally mounted her broom, took a deep breath and kicked off from the ground. she found herself to be about fifty feet above the ground in less than a second and loved the wind flying through her hair, which she had left down. her wand was stowed inside her robes. she raised the quaffle high above her head, dropped it and spun her broom around, acting as though it was a baseball bat and the ball itself was a simple baseball. and then she went tearing after it. she zoomed to the other side of the pitch and shot it through the tallest goal post in the middle. the quaffle fell to the sand below with a small thump and katrina made her mock victory lap, fist pumped and her light laughter ringing around the stadium.

( angels cry, when STARS collide... } Chasper walked out onto the field, closing her eyes and letting the cool breeze soothe her nerves. It had been a while since she had been out here with her Firebolt in one hand and the golden snitch in the other. She could feel the soft flutter of the snitch's wings in her hands and she looked over at it, smiling.
Suddenly, she heard laughter sound through the stadium and her head snapped up. She saw a brunette flying around with her quaffle, and a smile on her face. But who was she? Chasper couldn't see her face clearly since she was too high up. The only choice she would have was to fly up there and see who she was for herself. But that would mean that she would probably ruin her fun...
{You need more friends that are girls. Not just Zoltin and Paxton.} [But - ] {Do it. Or you can read her mind.} [Damn you.]
Chasper sighed, she needed something more than just go up to her and ask her who she was. Chasper never did that anyways, she was too shy to do anything like that. Feeling the soft wings of the snitch, she looked at it. Closing her eyes, she sighed once more before letting it go. It fluttered up, at first slowly, and then it zoomed off.
Keeping her eyes on the snitch, she mounted her broom and kicked off at top speed. Mentally, she told herself how stupid she was being. She also noted how much fun she was suddenly having now that she was off the ground and in the air doing one of her favorite things. A smile crept onto her face and her worries were gone.

katrina vanessathe real bombshells have already sunk katrina had been enjoying the feel of the wind against her cheeks, and the breeze whipping her hair against her face that she nearly collided with a tiny golden object and before it flew off into nothingness, there was a quick rush of wind and kat saw a blue figure whizz by her and gasped as she had to flip off her broom and back on again before she could really look at what was going on. she saw a long mane of blonde hair, and there were only two people she knew who had hair like that. one was her best friend, except paige's hair wasn't all that pale and though she didn't know her very well, she had seen her around and her name was chasper. they both played seeker, but the blue robes... she forgot what house chasper was in, but she forgot all about it, a small green creature arousing in her chest at the thought. envy was a very strong and powerful thing. it gave her a boost of energy as she sped forward toward the ground. she slowed as she neared it she slowed down and grabbed the quaffle. she gave it another toss and sped forward to grab it.
again, just as she neared it, another flash of gold and another flash of blue stopped her in her tracks. katrina shook out her annoyance with whatever was going on as she looked around, following the whizzing colours. though the snitch wasn't even visible, the blue streaked girl was and kat knew that whatever was going on was that she was sharing the pitch. not that she had a problem with that.
katrina ran her fingers through her hair and slowly lowered her broom back to the ground. she didn't, however slip off. instead, she sat on it like it was a bench and it hovered at a perfect hight for her. high enough for her feet to lightly brush the ground. she crossed her legs and held the quaffle between her two gloved hands and tossed it back and forth. for some reason, she didn't feel like getting back up there, and it wasn't the girl. at least, she thought it wasn't. she touched the team captain's badge on her uniform and sighed, tucking some hair behind her ear. her thoughts drifted to zoltin and how much she missed him. she hadn't seen him in so long and hanging out with all these others guys... but him.. well, she wished she could just stop everything and hang out with him. not worry about anything else in the world but him.
she kicked the ground with her boot, grass flying up and landing a few feet away. "life sucks." she muttered under her breath.

looking for a thrill, but you've done it all. Chasper hated herself for doing it, but she read the girl's thoughts. She heard her thinking about Chasper, a bit annoyed by her. Chasper felt bad as she zoomed after the snitch, not noticing that she was almost hiting the girl. In fact, she didn't even notice her there.
Reading her thoughts once more [ and of course, hating herself for it ] she heard her thinking about how much she missed Zoltin. Wait, what? Chasper had been reaching out for the snitch when she heard this, so when it came clear who she was, Chasper toppled off of her broom, falling down with the snitch in her hand. But before she hit the ground, she took out her wand quickly and called her broom over with, "Accio Firebolt!"
In a few seconds, her Firebolt slid under her right before she splatted on the ground. She hovered a foot off the ground for a second, trying to recollect herself... and her thoughts. Chasper then landed and plopped herself on the ground, staring at the green grass.
This girl is Zoltin's girlfriend. This girl is Katrina Vanessa O'neil. And Chasper really needs to stop reading people's mind. She shook her head, "This won't end well..." she predicted, her stare still on the grass.

katrina vanessathe real bombshells have already sunk katrina tossed the quaffle back and forth for a while, not really caring to pay attention to the rest of the world around her, that is, until she heard a cry. though she couldn't quite make out the words, she spun around nonetheless and her skin went pale to see the girl, the girl with the long blonde hair, plummeting toward the earth. katrina had no time to react, but apparently that girl had amazing reflexes. soon, right before she had hit the ground, she had come to a sharp stop and kat grimaced at the thought of her going all the way down. now that would have been pretty bad. take it back - it would have been terrible. but it was a simple feeling, falling off one's broom, it was like flying. except downwards. to one's doom. not too much of a difference. at least, she kept telling herself that just in case it would happen to her.
kat had fallen off her broom in the past, but it hadn't been a huge fall since she hadn't exactly broken any bones (except maybe her arm or her ankle) and other times, she'd just be knocked out and she'd slowly get lowered to the ground by her broom. it wasn't a huge deal with her. injuries and such, but that girl had fallen down about sixty to seventy feet. jesus, that's a huge fall.
katrina hopped off her broom, ditching it along with the quaffle in the luscious green grass and sprinted over to where the girl stood, as though transfixed on the grass. kat followed her eyes but saw nothing. she warily extended her hand and tapped the girl on the shoulder. "hey - are you alright?" she asked her carefully, as though worried she really wasn't and was about to break into two. she looked delicate - fragile even. but not in a bad way - heck no. she meant it in a beautiful way, as though if you were to do something too rough if would hurt her. but judging by the fall, kat didn't quite believe the statement to be true anymore. "that was a pretty big fall." she said, giving her a small smile.

looking for a thrill, but you've done it all. Chasper wasn't just sitting there because of her thoughts, but also because that was a very long drop. She could have died if she didn't think quick enough. Zoltin was right, trouble was magnetized to her. Zoltin. She looked away from the spot, closing her eyes as her hair fell over them. She had done it again... she was going to hurt someone if she didn't stop being so stupid and having stupid feelings.
Katrina ran over to her, looking almost worried... frantic. She felt a light tap on her shoulder, "hey - are you alright?" Katrina asked her. Chasper looked up at her, since she was still sitting down in the soft grass, "Yeah... yeah, I'm fine," she replied, nodding, "Just a little... freaked out..." she half-lied. Only half, though. She was pretty freaked out about the fall... and also about how Zoltin's girlfriend was standing right next to her, not even knowing anything about what Zoltin had been thinking. Much less, what Chasper had been thinking.
"that was a pretty big fall." Katrina gaved her a small smile afterwards. Now Chasper felt really bad... Katrina was being so nice to her and Chasper was making Zoltin love her. Well, she wasn't making him love her... but her being so happy around him and all, it just made him think about her more, which made things a lot worse than what they had to be.
"It was..." Chasper agreed, looking over a her broom. If brooms were alive, she would be hugging it right now and thanking it for saving her life. But since they weren't, she'd look pretty stupid sitting there, hugging a broom and talking to it. So she just smiled a little t show her appreciation, "Lucky I thought fast and my broom saved me... or else..." she trailed off. Or else she wouldn't be able to hurt anyone because she wouldn't exist anymore. That's what else.
Chasper shook the thoughts out of her head, and stood up, holding her broom in one hand and the snitch in the other so that it wouldn't fly away, "You're Katrina, aren't you? Katrina O'Neil?" she asked. She already knew who she was thanks to her stupid mind reading. But it was always polite to introduce yourself and all, "I'm Chasper. Chasper Jasper," she smiled. She tried to be as friendly as she could, it was the least she could do if she ever ended up ruining things for her. And not just a nice little game of Quidditch.
Even though Chasper was pretty shy and didn't like getting close or anything, she wanted to try and do something to make things better, to fix things before it ever happened. It killed her to do so, but she did it.

katrina vanessathe real bombshells have already sunk kat nodded quickly, understandingly. as much as she seemed to have annoyed her up in the air and maybe because she technically knew already who she was and how much she wished and longed to be her, well... there wasn't much she could do. "i'd be pretty freaked out myself if i were you." she said, grinning slightly. she never really saw chasper up close before and now that she had, now that she had knelt down just down to be eye level with her, did she truly realize how much her jealousy was real. she had some of the most gorgeous eyes katrina had ever seen and her hair looked so smooth that if kat was actually her friend, she would have run her fingers through it soothingly. to calm her down from the fall... right. right, the fall. kat glanced up the spot where chasper had just been and blocked the sun out with her hand.
kat smiled, "yeah... lucky you ravenclaw's are so smart." she said, laughing softly. "you've got good reflexes." she added, hoping to keep her mind off the fall that probably would have given kat a heart attack if she had just come onto the pitch and hadn't been all annoyed at the beginning. she tucked some of her auburn hair behind her ear and sat down in front of her, watching chasper curiously. she seemed to be thinking about something. something that seemed to really be bothering her a lot.
the fact that chasper knew her name already was kind of strange. was kat like... popular or something? yeah, right. she kind of doubted that. "yeah.. yeah, i am." she said, clearing her throat. she chose not to state that she too, knew who the girl was in case she reacted the same way kat would have had she not controlled her emotions. "chasper. chasper jasper. nice to meet you." she smiled, extending her hand to her in a friendly greeting.
she clapped her hands together, trying to lighten to the mood that could have been a sorrowful one. "so. what year are you in, chasper jasper? i don't recall seeing you in any of my classes." she said, cocking her head to the side, smiling slightly. no, but she had seen her in the halls. she had seen her beautiful, perfect self walking the hallways of hogwarts and it made her stomach churn. but katrina had chosen her path, and that path was make love not war. make friends not rivals. she was going to attempt to make friends with someone she had been jealous of ever since kat's fourth year at hogwarts.

looking for a thrill, but you've done it all. Chasper could hear her thoughts clearly, as if Katrina were saying them herself. Katrina wanted to be her. Chasper. Chasper the insane one, Chasper the stupid one, Chasper the klutz, Chasper the shy, Chasper the outcast, Chasper effing Jasper. But... it didn't make sense, who would want to be her? The person with the secret and horrible past and the crazy multicolored eyes and these stupid emotions and feelings and whatever. Katrina couldn't be for real, Chasper was just... not perfect like how everyone seemed to think she was.
She watched Katrina look up and block the sun out of her eyes, "i'd be pretty freaked out myself if i were you." Katrina replied. Chasper heard her insane thoughts once more and almost wanted to scream out how wrong she was. No one could possibly want to be her.
"yeah... lucky you ravenclaw's are so smart." Katrina laughed softly and Chasper held back a wince, "you've got good reflexes." she stated. Chasper smiled, "Thanks," she replied, not really sure what else to say about that.
"yeah.. yeah, i am." Katrina confirmed, clearing her throat. She knew who Chasper was too, but refused to say anything about it. As for Katrina being popular, I suppose you could say that... but also reading people's thoughts... like Zoltin's... you just sort of know.
"chasper. chasper jasper. nice to meet you." Katrina held out her hand for Chasper to shake. She hated herself for letting someone touch her. But she shook her hand and smiled, politely, "Nice to meet you, too."
"so. what year are you in, chasper jasper? i don't recall seeing you in any of my classes." Katrina asked, cocking her head to the side like how Chasper did all the time and still does, "I'm a fifth year. But I'm sixteen," she explained, "I'm going to take a guess here and say that you're a... sixth year...?" Chasper cocked her head to the side as if she wasn't sure. But hearing about her in people's thoughts and noting that Zoltin was a sixth year, it made sense that she would be one and so she already knew.
Chasper felt even worse when Katrina started thinking about how pretty Chasper was and how... jealous? she was of her. It almost made her insane. She had half a mind to tell her just how much she wouldn't want to be Chasper, but she let it go. It would cause trouble and she'd probably find out sooner or later that Chasper could, in fact, read minds. And sadly enough, did it often.

katrina vanessathe real bombshells have already sunk katrina was too wrapped up with trying to imagine herself in chasper's situation, that she nearly missed the few word's that had escaped the young girl's lips. she was nice to her, and friendly and smart... and not to mention a very talented seeker, able to follow the snitch with barely a meter separating them. katrina had to admit though, she was a pretty fair beater though some said better. she immediately scolded herself for thinking about quidditch and her job as and chaser and captain, rather than focusing on the current conversation in front of her.
kat nodded, grinning. "guilty as charged. sixth year all the way." she chuckled, knowing that next year she'd be saying the same thing except replacing sixth with seventh. kat was about to open her mouth to ask chasper if she was interested in a sort of... fly around the pitch but held back, seeing as she didn't really want to bother her since she was probably a little bothered about being so high up and then dropping so quickly.
but eventually, she gave into her wants and smiled, "fancy a small, light fly around the pitch? i mean.. you might not want to because you're a little... well, you might be worried. how would i know, i can't read your mind and i have no right talking for you." she laughed nervously before clearing her throat, "sorry. i mean, you don't have to... but we are on the quidditch pitch." she added, shrugging a shoulder cutely.
