katrina walked down the corridors, her nose bent in one of her books and her bag, filled to the brim with textbooks and parchment and quills and ink, banging against her hip. she didn't really notice where she was going until she finally looked up from the worn pages and found herself... lost. shockingly enough kat didn't exactly know where she was by sight. she glanced up at the name plates of the doors around her and spotted one familiar one. the trophy room was one she had gone into countless times to look at a lot of the names and who had won what for hogwarts. she had even spotted the one harry potter and ron weasley had won when they were in their second year. she admired them for it, though she would have liked to know, exactly, all the details she was content on just looking at the display.

she entered the empty room, and shut the door behind her. the room was empty as every step she took echoed around the square room. all of the four walls were covered with cases, each filled with more trophies then it looked like it could handle. but then again, this was hogwarts. there wasn't much to be expected from it, especially since it was a school for magic.

katrina wandered around the room, dropped her bag down by the familiar one with harry potter's name on it, and continued to view each trophy individually. she enjoyed looking at the different trophies and what each of them looked like and what-not. she also enjoyed looking at the names and in what year they were won and how old the students were, just so she could dream up winning something like that one day. she twirled around in a circle and began to hum a familiar tune as she continued to flicker from trophy to trophy.

There's Some Kind of Light

It was a lovely dream. He was sitting on a throne of gold surrounded by beautiful women. A smile graced Rick's slumbering face, then one of the women started humming a very tune he knew quite well. It took him a few moments to realize that the humming was not coming from one of his dream girls, but from the real world. Rick woke with a start and was shocked to find the world was completely dark. He flailed about silently until the dusting cloth fell off of his face and onto his lap. 'Oh...' he blushed as he wondered if anyone had seen the spectacle.

Glancing around he spotted a beautiful and easily recognizable head of soft brown waves and it made him genuinely smile. Luckily, she had been too focused on the trophies to notice the snoozing boy in the corner, who was obviously shirking his trophy shining duties. Yes, he had already gotten in trouble in the first few days of school. Silently, he pushed himself up off the ground and tiptoed until he was directly behind her.

In a swift and smooth motion one hand covered her eyes and the other wrapped around her side, bringing her closer to him. His chin nestled on her shoulder and his lips almost touched her ear as he whispered, "Guess who Kitty cat?"

kat had been concentrating so hard on the names on the trophy's that she didn't even hear the footsteps slowly approaching her from behind. it was only when her world was surrounded in darkness and two large, warm hands covered her eyes. her eyes had quickly run through about three emotions at once: fear (dark blue), shock (silvery grey) and calamity (light blue). it was only when she felt the hot breath on her neck did her breath catch in her throat.

she inhaled slowly and cocked her head, feeling the hands move with her. all she saw was a dim red light coming through his hands and when he spoke her nickname, she knew who it was for sure. "rick, if you don't take your hands away this instant, i'll hex you." she said with a smile as she toyed with her wand in her pocket. when she saw the light again, she spun around and messed up his hair. it looked nice already, messed up, but kat just felt like it.

"what're you doing here?" she asked him curiously, her first thought was him following her to give her a fright, but she doubted that was the case. she was almost positive she knew the answer anyway. but she still hoped she was wrong.

When Touching the Edge of Her Skin

As she wiggled softly in his grasp he adjusted so that she remained near to him. He inhaled softly and took in her intoxicating aroma. A light chuckle ran through his body as she threatened him playfully. "Idle threats darling will do nothing for you." but he slid his hands from her eyes anyway. Her soft hands tossled his already mussy hair and his pearly whites glimmered in his most dazzling smile. "We both know you'd do nothing to harm this lovely face of mine. his deep voice teased as tweaked her nose fondly.

He let out a little snort of laughter "What do you think I'm doing here?" His hand yanked out the shining rag with flourish and he gave her a sheepish look, "I've already gotten in trouble." His blue-green eyes sparkled with mischief. Out of natural habit, he reached out and twirled her hair between his fingers as he inquired, "And what might you be doing here love? Surely the amazing Katrina didn't get in to any trouble. She's far too 'innocent'. He chuckled as he let her hair fall back into place and his hand dropped to his side.

kat laughed. it was only half true. if he ever did anything to hurt her or any of her friends.. well, there we go. no more pretty boy face. but she doubted any of that would happen, so she didn't mind it one bit. "as far as you know." she said cheerfully, spinning on the spot and returning her attention to the trophy she was currently looking at. it was for a terrence dooley, and since she didn't know him (and it was in 1873) she just focused on the next one, fully aware that rick was behind her.

"oh you smart boy!" kat said, laughing as she returned her attention to him again. "getting yourself into trouble. what'd you do this time? try and copy peeves? no... wait, you've done that. how about try and put a niffler into.. oh nope. that's done too. what did you do to get a detention this time, anyway?" she said, smiling mischievously, the tint of pink in her eyes being replaced by an emerald green.

she smiled and flicked some hair over her shoulder, laughing as she did. rick knew how to make her laugh more then any comedian could, or anyone else at hogwarts. and she liked him for it, but that was it, really. other then the fact that he was so freakishly cocky sometimes. but she had learned to ignore that minor detail. "noooo, i'm here because i wanted to be alone to think, but i guess that'll never happen." she said teasingly. she felt a small blush creep up onto her cheeks when rick took a few strands of her hair. of course, it had happened before, but she couldn't help it. he was probably used to it by now anyway, considering he did it to almost all the girls he knew. most likely.

So Easy to Play Around

The grinning girl spun away from him towards the trophies that he was supposed to be dusting. He rolled his eyes lightly and came close behind her so that he could look over her shoulder. "You think these dead guys are more interesting than me..." he whined and when she looked over at him he stuck out his bottom lip and made puppy dog eyes. "You still wuv me mo' though wight kitty cat," he babbled in a baby tone.

He tossed the cloth over his shoulder and gave an innocent look. "How do you know I did anything wrong? Maybe I'm innocent and was framed!" He gasped and pretended to look hurt. "As if I would do anything like those 'rebellious teens' I've read about. I'm appalled Katrina!" He watched as her eyes shifted colors once more. That always made him smile. Rick felt like he could watch her eyes change for ages, it was so interesting and absolutely beautiful.

"Who needs peace and quiet when you get to talk with me?" his tone was teasing again. Teasing her was his favorite part, he was never mean of course, just playful. He had known her long enough to notice that blush creeping into her cheeks. It it made him happy to know that he had that effect on her too, no matter how small it was. He had to reject the urge to stroke her face again. Whenever he spoke to girls, he was used to be constantly touching them in a flirty manner but he wasn't supposed to do that with Kat. He couldn't do that to Zoltin...God it was hard having guy friends. His fingers just bunched into a ball at his side as his eyes traced her jaw line.

kat loved taunting him because his reaction was always the best, or funniest to her. she enjoyed watching his face, not that she didn't every other time. but the thing was, she just felt guilty afterwards, because she knew she had zoltin and she loved him with all her heart, or... at least, there was that tiny sliver that seemed to be finding its way around to every other guy who seemed to be making an impact in her life. it sucked, she had to admit, but it wasn't like she could avoid it. no matter how much she wanted to.

"innocent? you?" she giggled. "that's likely." she said as she took the towel from his shoulder and began to polish the trophy she had just been looking at. rick went on about how he was supposedly framed and kat kept on listening, a wide smile upon her lips as she rubbed the cloth on the name plaque. "uh-huh... and pigs fly." she said, playfully wiping her hands on his shirt. "i never knew how gross those cloths were." she said as she returned the cloth to him.

"hmm... talking to you or peace and quiet... tough choice." she said sarcastically before tucking some hair behind her ear. "i think i'm going to have t absolutely choose talking with you, since i know you're not going away." she said, blowing him a playful kiss and wandering off to the other side of the room where her bag was. she bent over and began to rummage through it for her quill and a piece of parchment.

I Was Hypnotized

His eyes widened in mock shock, "I can be innocent!" She gave him a skeptical look. "Alright...so it's not natural to me." She just continuing polishing the trophy and he made a tutting sound with his tongue. "And you're assisting a fugitive! Shame on you young lady," he shook his finger at her and attempted to look disapproving. She wiped her hands on his shirt and he couldn't help but enjoy the feeling of her running her hands down his chest. 'No. No. No.' he scolded himself. 'Kat is friend, not normal girl.'

He cleared his throat a little in a desperate attempt to get rid of the feeling and ran his fingers through his hair. "I know. They're absolutely disgusting, I think I'm getting diseases. Maybe it's abuse and I can report the school." He sighed thinking fondly of no school. Then again, no school meant no women. He shuddered at the thought. Katrina went over to her bag and he followed her, intrigued. "Did you bring my a pressie Kitty?" he joked. "You shouldn't have!"

When she pulled out a piece of parchment and a quill he wrinkled his nose in disgust. "No really, you shouldn't have! You know I'm allergic to homework!" He scurried behind one of the trophy displays. "Get that demon torture device away!" he whimpered as he cowered.

kat shrugged, "they can't get rid of me. i'm just too awesome to expel." she said, grinning, "oh and now you're a fugitive?" she laughed, arching her brow. "what're you going to be next, love? a... poltergeist? an innocent victim?" she said as she crossed her arms over her chest, clearly enjoying herself.

kat grinned at the thought of him being kicked out of school... well, not the part about him leaving, more the part about him getting kicked in the butt and then all these girls in the background, sobbing their eyes out as he bid one last farewell... she shook her head, since she couldn't help it. she laughed, "that would be funny... abuse, and then no school..." and then her small imagination changed the small daydream, having everyone leaving.. yeah... not too great. "wait- nevermind. i meant you getting kicked out of school would be funny. hogwarts closing? yeah - not too funny." she said, smirking.

she tucked her wand behind her ear and sat down on the floor beside her bag, shooting rick an amused grin she began to scribble a few notes down. she would sometimes take notes and study at random periods, and since she had come in here for that sole purpose (other than looking around) she decided to get on that. "oh, don't worry. i'm not that thoughtful." she said, smirking as she tucked some hair behind her ear and concentrated hard on the notes she was jotting down from the morning classes.
