.
He nodded with a sly smile, even for him. Ryan was never the guy to get irritating or bothersome, instead, he was just cold and calculating. Just plain cruel. It was much more entertaining, and not everyone could have the cold head of being so mean. Thankfully he had. But the plan of walking away wasn't so bad...he'd thought of better.
"Where the hell did that come from?"he asked, amazed at his next response. He hadn't mentioned his stupidity in a while...maybe it had just clicked in his brain. He grinned, tell a joke and Chris laughs half an hour later. "And what had a wand got to do with any of this? You don't get it...do you?" he asked raising his eyebrow, knowing that the answer was no. He smiled sadly, and patted his shoulder, as if he was sorry.
"Oh no no no no no!" he repeated, his voice growing louder as he backed away quickly, his hand covering his ears. "Not two teachers dating!" even saying it sounded horribly wrong. weren't the teachers like...ancient? Well, not ancient -minus the ghosts, of course- but really, really old. Maybe it was their robes, or the way they hardly ever stopped to have a normal conversation with the students about the weather that made them look supernatural. Maybe it only occurred to him, but he did see them as people that were way above them, with so much knowledge to share that they didn't spend it on leisure. It was weird, and very nerdly, but thats how he thought. And obviously he wasn't going to tell Chris.
True. If Ryan was gay, there was a big chance that Chris was gay, too. They didn't grope each other in public, if thats what you think, but they were always crazy around each other. If Chris hadn't had an reasonable amount of girlfriends, then he was positive the whole school would think they were gay. It's not like they did anything, but they were always around each other, and Chris liked hugging people. Chris liked hugging too much.
"I'd do it for you..."he winked with a grin, then started to laugh. If Chris was gay...well, Ryan could go shopping with him, but nothing more. He was 100% straight, he had no doubt about it. There were no doubts about Chris either, so all was good. Ryan could go shopping without him.
True, he should start paying him. Or treating him nicer. Or make an effort to be happy around him. The last couple of weeks he hadn't been his happiest, and he was grateful for having Chris as a friend. Even if he didn't show it that much. He was one of the few people who had stuck by him year after year, and that was something he truly appreciated.
"I can pay you...by not hexing you every time you do something dumb. Hows that?" he said with a slight smile and a nod. Not like he would ever hex him, but he had thought of doing it multiple times.
Just what? Ryan found Molly amazing, in every way. Her looks, her personality, her shy smile, her soft hair...but he understood where Chris came from. After all, Molly and Chris were close friends...but they had gone out, so Chris had seen something in her. They were better off as friends, though, and Ryan wasn't half as jealous. It's not like he had known it was jealousy back then, but he knew it wasn't good.
"You kissed her, too." he replied, crossing his arms over his chest. It couldn't be that bad if he had also done it. Hell, it hadn't been that bad at all. It had been amazing. But Chris probably didn't understand, he hadn't liked her as much as Ryan did.
Ryan couldn't help but roll his eyes and Chris hugged him. That was what he meant when he said Chris was a contact person. It never made him uncomfortable, as he knew it was a normal thing for Chris to do. If it had been some random stranger hugging him while he was laying on top of them...that wouldn't have been so nice.
"I do. My life would be a shithole if you weren't here." he repeated the words he knew Chris wanted to hear and rolled off. Chris mustn't have been very comfortable, with a 16 year old guy on top of him.
"Your life wouldn't be so much fun if I wasn't here, either." he replied, sitting up. At least, he hoped it wouldn't.
