Paige Summers Resting her head in her hands. Paige surpressed a sigh. She still hadn't found Derek in the few days she'd been back her and she hadn't seen much of Kat since either. She had her own problems going on. <I've never missed Chris soo much> <I wouldnt even mind seeing Luke again...and thats saying something!>She rubbed the back of her neck with the palm of her hand and diverted her gaze to the table. Thoughts of Derek spun around her head. She'd been told her went to class this morning but no one had seen him since. <Derek, where are you?>

derek vincelli derek vincelli had, once again, arrived late for the second time in six years. how annoying was that? he ran his fingers through his messy dirty blonde locks which had darkened over the summer term. he was an individual who enjoyed his space so much to the surprise of himself and his friends, he found himself in a demanding relationship. not that he had a problem with that considering that his girlfriend was hot. and he meant really, really hot. and she was nice and friendly and smart and outgoing. but sometimes too outgoing for derek's liking. he was more of a loner. someone who enjoyed... you know, hanging out on the sidelines. not that he didn't enjoy taking part in other things. like quidditch, for instance. nah, he loved the sport. in fact, he was actually pretty good at it too. not to toot his own horn or anything like that.
so as he walked into the great hall that afternoon for lunch, he noticed none of the staff were sitting up front. probably some stupid meeting or other, and only the caretaker, filch was in charge. but he seemed to be dealing with a few rowdy second year ravenclaw's. who happened to conveniently be on the other side of the hall from the gryffindor table. he was going to head over to sit with zoltin since he couldn't find seamus anywhere, but then he spotted those familiar, beautiful, silky blonde locks on a young girl's porcelain skin and his heart couldn't help but flutter only slightly. he strode confidently toward the table, positive that this girl happened to be madly in love with him (and he loved her too, of course) and just took a seat comfortably beside her.
not that sitting beside a gryffindor was weird or anything. and besides, it was the end of lunch, so the hall was practically empty. hence, no one was sitting around paige. not even kat. which derek found kind of useful. he tucked some of her hair preciously behind her ear and planted a soft kiss on her cheek. "so. what'd you have for lunch?" he asked her, cheerfully grabbing a bowl of soup that was probably freezing cold right now.

Paige Summers Paige turned to head to face the boy she'd been looking for like crazy for the passed two days. "Derek!" She grinned, hugging him tightly, "Where the heck have you been? Late again?" She laughed pulling away slightly, but leaving her hand on his shoulder. "And answering your question, just a slice of pizza" She knew when she was being demanding to him and lately tried hard not to be, but if felt like Derek never 100% put himself into their relationship- like it was nothing more than a matter of convieience. "So...are you going to tell me where you've been. I was worried sick you know?"

derek vincelli derek coughed and scratched the back of his neck awkwardly. truth was, he had no idea where he was. huh. strange of him, huh. he cleared his throat and nodded, "late again." he said, as though clarifying the obvious known fact. he was a little sheepish with his late entrances every year since every year he missed the train and someone had had to apparate beside him and give him a ride up. thank god he had had his broomstick with him. this time it had been professor mcgonagall who had taken the ride to tell him that he was totally screwed and had about two week's worth of detentions to live up to. ugh.
"just a slice of pizza? you dieting? god." he said, rolling his eyes teasingly, "you look great. eat something else with me. here. have a sandwich." he said, nudging one of the plates toward her. he loved to eat, he'll admit, and even though he didn't stuff his face all the time, he enjoyed it. it was something to do with your hands and your face to look so busy you don't have to say or do anything. that is, until you meet his mother. wicked old bat.
"i've been around." he said, shrugging as he took a sip of his soup. "you know, i always show up at the end of meals. i don't get why you've been so worried." he said, shooting her a small smile. "i've been in the library, since i haven't really told you yet. but yeah, library." he said, tossing some hair out of his face.

Paige Summers She rolled her eyes and grabbed one of the sandwiches he'd just pushed towards her. Taking a small bite she turned her head towards him and furrowed her brows together. "You know I get worried, Derek. Anything could have happened to you...there's weird things going on again lately and with you dissapearing without a word-its bond to get me worried..." She lovingly pushed back a piece of hair flowing down into his eyes, helping his vision as he ate his soup. "I'm a worrier..." She shrugged, "Its what I do best"

derek vincelli derek smirked and shook his head again. she was unbelievable. in a good way of course, but still. it was kind of annoying, but he loved her nonetheless. "and you're thinking something could happen inside hogwarts?" well.. that did seem like an option. considering some of the slytherins were acting lately. no surprises there. she finished his soup and wiped his mouth with a napkin. he may eat like a pig, but other then that, he had very good etiquette. most found it shocking and frankly, so did derek. he wasn't much of a manners type person. he was more of a 'do whatever i want and who gives a shit about what other people think' kind of person.
he stroked her hair, trying to be sincere, "yeah, i know you worry. but you don't have to." he said, cocking his head and glancing at her. she looked so sweet and innocent and beautiful right now and he knew he was going to be insanely late for his care of magical creatures class since it was so far and he needed to get his stuff from the common room. but he didn't really care. he knew paige had a spare and was willing to skip for her. "i want to kiss you right now, you know." he said as though he was just asking for the salt.

Paige Summers A huge smile parted her lips. This was the Derek she loved, the so random moments that he would come out with, romantic at the same time too. She edged towards him slowly, turning her body to face him directly and gently pushing her arms over his shoulders and around his neck. "Then what are you waiting for?" She asked, the smile still pressed onto her lips as she lent her head in towards his, their noses almost touching. Paige could sense eyes watching them, they were in the middle of the great hall after all, but she really couldnt care less. She had Derek and his eyes were the only ones she really cared about being on her or not. <Doesn't he have a class now?> <No. Be quite> <You'd make him miss a class just to kiss you?> <Sure would>

derek vincelli what was he waiting for, exactly? a bomb to drop on his head? someone to laugh? someone to call a teacher that he was sitting at the wrong table? damn. he was waiting for something to whack him in the head and stop him. he, after all, had some sort of an image to uphold. no matter how pathetic that image may be. sure, he could be all romantic and sometimes hated himself afterwards for it, but that's just who he was. he never really regretted anything, but he never really found himself bouncing off the walls because of it. nevertheless, when she approached him, his head did a sort of... twisted flutter. falling and them fluttering again. gah, stupid heart. he tucked some of her hair behind her ear and leaned forward a little more, so that their noses touched and gave her a little eskimo kiss.
nah, he didn't quite feel like actually kissing her yet, but that wasn't ruled out as a possibility either. he smiled slightly, trying to mask the decision in his eyes. everyone was watching and then again everyone was also not watching at the same time. not that they cared. it wasn't as though they were making out in the great hall - and then again, that wasn't a ruled out possibility either now that he thought about it. ah what the heck, better give these kids something to talk about. he leaned forward so that their lips finally touched and placed his hands gently on her waist as most guys did when they kissed their girlfriends. not that he watched them or anything. it was just a natural, common thing to do. sometimes he cared and sometimes he didn't.

Paige Summers Paige gripped him around the neck tighter, keeping there lips together in a sweet kiss. She felt his grip on her waist loosly and even though she was fully aware of where they were and who might be watching her, she's do anything to prolong the kiss. She heard light giggles from the other gyffindor girls around them, thought they weren't anywhere near the couple, their giggles and whispered could still be heard. <Thats it, girls, giggle all you want> <They're just jealous they dont have the hottest hufflepuff to lock lips with!> Her lips parted into a smile and they broke the kiss, but she kept her face close to his. "Hmm...do you think it's greedy of me to want to kiss you again?" Paige let out a light laugh and brushed her lips against his again, bringing them into an tender kiss. <How did I go so long without this?!>
